What are the “Hards” in your life? We all make choices everyday. Those situations that force us into choices often have many options, but most always come down to two….the wise, best choice and the other choice which is most often filled with more heartache, disappointment and possible failure. Let’s take the “hard decision” to stay in a marriage that is unfulfilling and in a downward spiral verses the “hard decision” to go through a divorce. Many times we are deceived into thinking that the grass is greener on the other side of the fence. What I’ve found out about the other side of the fence, is there is usually lots of manure there as well! Many people think that divorce is more attractive because they’ve never gone down that road before; they’ve never endured the divorce procedure and life thereafter. They lie to themselves saying, that ANYTHING has to be better than working on this marriage!
If you’ve ever experienced a divorce, you know that it is much like grieving the loss of a loved one. As a matter of fact, facing the death of a loved one is often easier emotionally than experiencing divorce….there seems to never be closure. Both marriage and divorce are hard. The each have their own unique hard. But unless you’re in an abusive relationship and the break down of the marriage is a result of both or one party not nurturing the other, then the rewards of choosing the “hard of marriage” far outweighs the “hard” of loss, grief and ongoing struggles of divorce and living alone.
Life is hard; that won’t change. Living life requires us to daily make choices. In order for you to live your best life in 2021, you will need to make wise choices. Make choices that move you in the direction of your goals. Choices that bring reward, satisfaction, peace, prosperity and success are rarely the “easy choices”…more often than not, they are hard! There’s a saying “if it’s worth having, it’s worth working for”. I believe that.
People that are successful don’t “find it”, they work for it. Success requires planning, effective strategies and the willingness to do things over and over until it is achieved. That isn’t easy…that’s hard. But that’s ok. You can do hard things. God has equipped you with everything you need to enjoy success. But it is you that has to choose to be successful and work to implement the plan.
You have a calling on your life…an important calling…one that will require discipline and wise choices if you are to succeed. Decide today which hard you will choose and begin to make daily changes that reflect your decision.
Begin by deciding what it is that you want to achieve. Then make a plan with action steps and begin to implement them daily. Everyday you need to do at least one thing that will help move you closer to your success. Before you know it, that choice will manifest in your world as success!!
You’ll live your best life everyday when you choose the “Wise Hard”!
